Interferometric scattering microscopy: The new technique for label-free live cell imaging
ABC 2018
Interferometric scattering (iSCAT) microscopy is the new label-free optical imaging technique, originally developed to track a very weak light signal scattered from nano-biomolecules at an ultrahigh spatial and temporal resolution. Here, as a new application of iSCAT, we report on the iSCAT live cell imaging which reveals the underlying structures of a variety of cytoplasmic organelles as well as the underside structure of the cells. To address the advantages as well as weaknesses in cell imaging via iSCAT, we try to compare the iSCAT cell images with the phase contrast images taken from the exactly same cells.
