        TITLE
Electro-Optic Organic THz Wave Sources  


        ABSTRACT
THz photonics is based on electromagnetic waves in the range from 0.1 to 15 THz. Compared to widely used conventional optical waves, microwaves, radio frequency (RF) and X-ray, THz waves exhibit very unique characteristics; e.g., very high material transparency with conductivity dependence, selective absorption with molecular phonon mode. However, a lack of highly efficient broadband THz sources is one of important limitation. In this presentation, highly efficient broadband THz sources based on organic electro-optic crystals are discussed.
