TITLE
Electro-Optic Organic THz Wave Sources
■
ABSTRACT
THz
photonics is based on electromagnetic waves in the range from 0.1 to 15 THz.
Compared to widely used conventional optical waves, microwaves, radio frequency
(RF) and X-ray, THz waves exhibit very unique characteristics; e.g., very high
material transparency with conductivity dependence, selective absorption with
molecular phonon mode. However, a lack of highly efficient broadband THz
sources is one of important limitation. In this presentation, highly efficient
broadband THz sources based on organic electro-optic crystals are discussed.
