A simple view on bacterial chromosome organization

■        ABSTRACT
There has been a growing appreciation of quantitative thinking in biology, as it tests our intuition.  In this talk, I will show how physics can be used to gain quantitative insights into chromosome organization in bacterial cells.  An essential aspect of this process is biological ordering emerging from microscopic disorder.
